DURHAM:
The Jewel of the North East is situated only 1 mile from the A1 (M) north/south motorway and has direct Intercity rail links to London and Edinburgh. The Castle and Cathedral have been designated as one of the few World Heritage sites in Britain.

Durham is ideally located midway between the historic centres of York and Edinburgh and there are a number of interesting places to visit within easy access including; The Beamish North of England Open Air Museum, Kielder Water, the magnificent Northumbria Coastline, Hadrians Wall, The Durham Dales, Lindisfame Priory and Museum, the North Yorkshire Moors and Railway to name but a few, not forgetting the historic City Centre.

PLAWSWORTH:
The village of Plawsworth is a small hamlet ideally located 3 miles to the north of Durham City Centre and 3 miles from the Roman Town of Chester le Street in the heart of the County of Durham.

The Arnison Shopping Centre lies 1 mile to the south where there is a large Sainsbury's Superstore, Petrol Filling Station, McDonalds and a large retail park as well as a neighbourhood sports centre.

GARDEN COTTAGE, SOUTHILL HALL:
Located in the centre of the Southill Estate, which is currently operated as a regional equestrian centre, with excellent riding including indoor arena, open air floodlit dressage area and cross country course together with extensive leisurely courses in unspoilt countryside.

The main hall was sold some years ago to the Government for development as Judges Lodgings, shortly thereafter the walled garden area was purchased by the owners as their main residence and the Old Power House to the main hall was subsequently converted into a unique small garden cottage set in 3 acres of landscaped gardens and woodlands benefiting from a tranquil position with a variety of wild life and benefiting from easy access to the City Centres of Durham, Newcastle and Sunderland, all within 20 minutes drive time.
